Kashmira ki Kahaani (Story of Kashmira)
Kashmira was started in 2021 by a couple who have deep roots with Pakistani culture. Pakistan is part of one of the most historical regions in the world.
Having family there and being able to visit Pakistan every year, the couple realized how many of the traditions and cultural heritage are very unique but unknown to the rest of the world. One skill in particular is the skill of handicraft.
The history of handcraft in South Asia dates back to the rule of the Mughals. Many of the artisans were highly skilled and used to make handcrafted items for the rulers and their families. That skill has been passed down through generations and even today, these artisans create handcrafted items that are rare and can only be found in local markets.
The idea of Kashmira is to provide a platform to these artisans to showcase their skills on a global scale and share these unique gems. We work with artisans from the North side of the country. These artisans are highly skilled in the field of handcrafting. Our first handcraft spotlight is on the Pashmina.
Our goal is to create a platform for artisans from around the world whose artwork tells a unique story. We hope you will share our love for locally sourced and handmade art by supporting these artisans.
